Previously, Meera faced a 10-year UK entry ban, which sources attribute to a miscommunication during an immigration interview. The misunderstanding reportedly stemmed from an English language barrier—she misinterpreted a question about “transit” as “transaction”—and led to the restriction
Despite the ban’s expiration, her latest visa application was rejected due to incorrect information submitted by a travel agent. Undeterred, Meera has hired a new lawyer and is preparing a fresh application based on accurate details
Meera’s sister, Shaista Abbas, is a qualified lawyer based in London, and their mother has also been residing in the UK. Meera s sister is battling a serious illness and needs family support. Speaking on the need for reunion, Meera’s mother said:
“My daughter just wants to visit her ill sister—there are also film commitments pending in the UK.”
Meera s sister Shaista Abbas speaks about Meera s UK entry ban. Shaista is a qualified UK solicitor and lives in London. Meera was banned by the UK govt for 10 years. Her mother has appealed to the UK government to allow Meera to enter the UK now on a visitors visa.
