(Web Desk): Sugar price has fallen sharply across Pakistan after government action had brought significant relief and lowered cost in Karachi and Punjab cities.

In a strong move against artificial inflation, the government’s strict measures led to a clear drop in sugar prices within major markets. People and traders have started noticing the change, especially where prices were previously high.

In Karachi, wholesale price of sugar dropped from Rs200 per kilogram to Rs150 per kilogram, and sources say it may fall further to Rs146 per kilogram. This fall reached even lower in parts of Punjab, where prices came down to Rs145 per kilogram.

Market experts say the big price drop happened because enough sugar stocks are available across the country. Around 150,000 tonnes of imported sugar are reported to be in warehouses, helping keep the supply strong and prices under control.

Wholesale grocers believe that with continued monitoring and no hoarding, the sugar price could fall even more in the weeks ahead, helping consumers widely.

Consumers welcomed the drop and said they hope the lower prices soon reach the retail shops. Many families have been struggling with high sugar costs, and the relief is giving them hope for cheaper food items overall.

The big fall in sugar cost shows that government action and better supply can quickly change prices. People are happy and feel relief at lower rates. If prices keep dropping, more families will benefit at shops soon.
