The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange closed on a bullish note. The index gained 1,646.79 points, showing a rise of 0.97 percent, and settled at 171,960.65 points compared to 170,313.86 points in the previous session.
Trading activity stayed active throughout the day. The ready market recorded a volume of 950.146 million shares, with a total traded value of Rs54.075 billion, compared to 1,068.512 million shares valued at Rs51.799 billion in the previous session.
Market capitalization showed a clear improvement. It increased to Rs19.498 trillion from Rs19.377 trillion a day earlier, highlighting growing confidence among investors.
Out of 482 active companies, 217 shares advanced, 228 declined, and 37 remained unchanged, indicating mixed movement despite the overall positive trend.
TPL REIT Fund I topped the volume chart with 75.804 million shares. It was followed by Hascol Petroleum with 37.077 million shares and Siddiqsons Tin Plate Limited with 36.739 million shares.

Among the top gainers, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited rose by Rs848.93 to close at Rs10,227.25. Bhanero Textile Mills Limited increased by Rs64.57 and settled at Rs922.80.
On the losing side, Hoechst Pakistan Limited declined by Rs82.19 to close at Rs4,412.81, while PIA Holding Company Limited-B fell by Rs70.00 to end at Rs23,000.00.
In the futures market, turnover stood at 166.285 million shares with a traded value of Rs12.548 billion, compared to 222.330 million shares worth Rs12.532 billion in the previous session.
Out of 316 futures-market companies, 171 recorded gains, 142 declined, and three remained unchanged. PIAHCLA-Dec led futures volumes with 19.772 million shares, followed by BOP-Dec and PIBTL-Dec.
Top futures gainers included ENGROH-Dec, which rose by Rs18.05 to Rs232.05, and ENGROH-Jan, which gained Rs14.50 to settle at Rs232.00. On the downside, PIOC-Jan dropped by Rs21.30 to Rs402.33, while PIOC-DecB declined by Rs18.10 to Rs399.80.
The strong rise shows buyers are active again. Higher market value signals improving confidence. Continued buying could keep the market stable in the near term.
