In the international market, gold prices surged by $240 and reached $4,916 per ounce. Silver prices also rose sharply, gaining $7.41 to settle at $86.71 per ounce, the association reported.
Gold prices rose because global demand increased suddenly. Investors are moving towards gold as a safe option. Higher international prices directly pushed local rates up. If global uncertainty continues, prices may stay high.
