Rupee fights back against Dollar - Stability ahead or more shocks?

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Rupee appreciated slightly by 03 paisa against the US Dollar in interbank trading, closing at Rs281.77 compared to Rs281.80 a day earlier.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the open market rates of the dollar stood at Rs282.8 for buying and Rs283.6 for selling.

The Euro, however, gained strength. Its value rose by 94 paisa to close at Rs328.88 compared to Rs327.94 previously, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese Yen remained flat at Rs1.91, while the British Pound slipped by 17 paisa to close at Rs380.06 against Rs380.23 a day before.

Meanwhile, the Emirates Dirham fell by 01 paisa to Rs76.71, and the Saudi Riyal closed steady at Rs75.09.

The Rupee’s minor recovery signals controlled fluctuations in the currency market, but mixed trends among global currencies show volatility still exists. While stability against the Dollar is encouraging, pressure from a stronger Euro could affect trade balances. Investors are closely watching whether this marks the beginning of sustainable stability or just temporary resistance.
