Pakistani rupee strengthens against US Dollar in interbank market

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) The Pakistani Rupee witnessed a modest gain of 10 paisa against the US Dollar in interbank trading on Wednesday.

The local currency closed at Rs280.46 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs280.56, as per the State Bank of Pakistan.

In the open market, however, the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reported the dollar’s buying and selling rates at Rs280.65 and Rs282.15, respectively.

Among other currencies, the Euro edged up by 07 paisa to settle at Rs319.01, while the Japanese Yen gained 02 paisa, closing at Rs1.97. The British Pound showed a notable increase of Rs1.12, reaching Rs372.35 from the previous day’s Rs371.23.

Meanwhile, slight declines were observed in the exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal, both dropping by 03 paisa to close at Rs76.35 and Rs74.74, respectively.

This minor shift in currency rates reflects ongoing fluctuations in the global forex market and investor sentiments.
