The bullish momentum shattered previous records, signaling renewed investor confidence and heavy buying interest. The index rose from the last closing of 116,167.47 points — a dramatic boost that has turned heads across financial circles.
A staggering 804,779,730 shares were traded in a single day, up from 595,010,639 the day before. The total value of shares traded also jumped significantly, from Rs 23,488,000,000 to Rs 37,614,000,000, showing strong market activity and liquidity injection.
Among 477 companies that participated in trading, 407 saw their share prices increase, only 35 faced losses, and 35 remained unchanged. This overwhelmingly positive trend indicates widespread market optimism, possibly due to macroeconomic signals or anticipated reforms.
The day’s top trading volume came from WorldCall Telecom with 65,356,135 shares at Rs 1.46 per share, followed by K-Electric Ltd with 54,305,248 shares at Rs 5.24, and Cnergyico PK with 37,885,162 shares at Rs 7.16.
On the list of top gainers, PIA Holding Company LimitedB stunned the market with a jump of Rs 1,003.85 per share, closing at Rs 11,042.30. Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited followed with a remarkable Rs 721.43 increase, finishing at Rs 23,621.43.

Nevertheless, not all companies shared the joy. Faisal Spinning Mills Limited saw the biggest drop, losing Rs 20.17 per share to close at Rs 315.00. Tandianwala Sugar Mills Limited was next, with a Rs 15.01 dip, ending at Rs 165.69.
This dramatic upturn hints at a wave of optimism in Pakistan’s financial sector. Possible reasons include expectations of foreign inflows, positive government policies, or easing inflation. However, analysts caution that such fast surges should be watched carefully, as they can sometimes precede volatility.
For now, investors are enjoying the rally — but the key question is whether this growth is sustainable or simply a temporary spike driven by speculation. Either way, the market has made it clear: something big is brewing, and everyone is watching.
