KARACHI: (Web Desk) The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Tuesday refuted the reports claiming “Karachi Airport sold secretly for $1.8 billion”.

The CAA spokesperson said, “Recent rumours circulating online regarding the sale of Jinnah International Airport in Karachi are completely unfounded.”

He stated that the Karachi Airport is completely under the administration of the CAA and advised citizens to pay no attention to these baseless rumours.

He stated these remarks during an important review meeting regarding the affairs of the Ministry of Privatisation.

During the meeting, the roadmap of the privatisation programme 2024-2029 was presented by the Privatisation Commission: Ministry of Privatisation.

The meeting was given a detailed briefing about the progress on the privatisation of state-owned entities.

The meeting was told that the pre-qualification process regarding the privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) would be completed by the end of May.
