LAHORE: (Web Desk) Sugar prices in Pakistan have dropped significantly, with the wholesale price of this daily-use commodity decreasing by Rs10 per kilogramme.

According to Punjab Kiryana Merchants Association President Arif Gujjar, the ex-mill price of sugar has dropped from Rs163 per kilogramme to Rs153 per kilogramme.

He explained that the rise in sugar prices was due to collusion, and now prices are expected to drop even further.

He also mentioned that it will take a few days for the price of sugar to fall below Rs165 per kg.

He urged the government to reduce sugar prices to Rs140 per kg to provide relief to the public and stabilize the market.

This price drop comes at a time when people are struggling with inflation, and the rising cost of everyday items has added to their difficulties.
