Is the Suzuki Mehran set for a return?
LAHORE: (Web Desk) The speculation about the possible return of the Suzuki Mehran to Pakistani automotive industry has been officially put to rest.

According to media reports, the rumors circulating on social media has now been unequivocally debunked by Pak Suzuki Mian Channu Motors. The company confirmed that there are no plans to reintroduce the iconic mini-hatchback, putting an end to the widespread buzz.

In the past week, AI-generated videos featuring a kei car branded as "Mehran 2025" began to make the rounds online. These videos quickly garnered attention, leading some to believe that the Mehran was set to make a return.

Several unofficial websites even speculated about the car’s price, suggesting it could range from Rs1.2 million to Rs1.6 million.

However, these claims have now been officially dismissed. Pak Suzuki Mian Channu Motors issued a clear statement confirming that no such model is under development, and there are no plans to relaunch the Mehran in any form.

The Suzuki Mehran, a staple on Pakistan’s roads for decades, was discontinued in 2019 after a successful run of sixty years.

Famous for its affordability and simple design, it earned the affectionate title of “The Boss” among its users.

Following its retirement, the Suzuki Alto took its place in the market.
