LAHORE: (Web Desk) A significant drop in wheat and flour prices has been observed in Punjab, providing substantial relief to citizens.
The price of newly harvested wheat arriving from Sindh has decreased by Rs400 per 40 kg, bringing it down from Rs2,865 to Rs2,460 per 40 kg.
Notably, this reduction has also impacted flour prices. The price of a 20 kg bag of flour has dropped by Rs100, bringing it down to between Rs1,450 and Rs1,500.
Meanwhile, the arrival of Punjab’s new wheat crop is expected to begin in a few days. With this, wheat prices in the province s grain markets are anticipated to range between Rs2,200 and Rs2,300 per 40 kg.
The new harvest is likely to drive prices even lower. This decline in prices has brought stability to the market — a welcome development for the public.
