
The exciting launch event happened this Friday and surprised the auto industry with a major announcement. Nishat Group shared its big plan to set up a brand-new electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant near Faisalabad. Local production of EVs will start in November 2025, with an investment of $100 million through their company Nexgen Auto.
In a rare move, five new car models were launched all at once, something that’s never been done before in Pakistan’s car industry. These include two long-range fully electric cars (Omoda E5 and Jaecoo J6), two plug-in hybrids (J7 and C7), and one regular hybrid car (J5). The event drew a huge crowd, including politicians, environmentalists, influencers, and car lovers.

Speaking at the event, Mian Mohammad Mansha, Chairman of Nishat Group, said this move supports Pakistan’s shift to clean, green transportation. He praised the government’s efforts to support electric mobility and reduce pollution. He also said that switching to electric cars will cut down Pakistan’s fuel import costs and help the environment.

Mr. Mansha highlighted that his group has already sold 50,000+ Hyundai vehicles in Pakistan and announced that MCB Bank (also part of Nishat Group) will offer car loans for EVs, making it easier for people to buy them.
Mr. Qi Joe, head of Chery International South Asia, also shared his excitement about the partnership, saying they hope to make Omoda and Jaecoo top car brands in Pakistan.
According to the company, this launch shows Nishat Group’s strong push toward modern, intelligent, and sustainable cars for Pakistan. These vehicles are built with the latest technology and are made for today’s eco-conscious drivers.
