Chicken prices soar to record high across Punjab and KP
LAHORE (Web Desk): Chicken prices have seen a sharp increase across Punjab, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

The price of broiler chicken has surged to Rs780 per kilogram after jacking up from Rs450 per kg. It seems the authorities are unable to control the soaring costs, leaving consumers struggling with the steep hike.

In addition, reports show that a 40 kg supply of broiler chicken, which was previously priced at Rs13,000, has now surged to Rs17,000, coinciding with the drop in mercury.

Poultry prices have also reached record highs in Mansehra and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On Wednesday, live broiler chicken was sold for Rs435 per kilogram, as set by the Mansehra Poultry Shops Association.

Industry sources indicate that this price spike marks a notable increase in recent months. The price of live chicken, which was available at around Rs300 per kilogram in the past few months, has reached reached to Rs435 in Mansehra and adjacent areas.
