Bilateral trade between Pakistan and the US records 16 percent increase

KARACHI (Web Desk): Pak-US trade hit $7.6 billion in FY 2024-25, with Pakistani exports up 10% and imports rising 40%.

According to sources, Pak-US trade in the fiscal year 2024-25 was $7.598 billion. During this period, Pakistan’s exports to the US reached $5.836 billion, while imports from the US were $1.763 billion.

According to sources, exports have recorded a 10 percent increase compared to last year, with the details stating that exports of bed sheets, tablecloths and kitchen linen stood at $1.38 billion. Exports of men s suits, jackets and trousers reached $936 million, while exports of other ready-made garments reached $386 million. Similarly, exports of T-shirts stood at $361 million and exports of jerseys, pullovers and cardigans were recorded at $312 million.

In addition, exports of hosiery reached $278 million. Exports of men s knitted shirts were $244 million. Exports of leather products were recorded at $165 million, while exports of women s suits, jackets and dresses were $157 million.

According to sources, imports recorded a 40 percent increase compared to last year. Cotton imports from the United States were $393 million. Iron and steel scrap imports reached $159 million. Soybean imports were $137 million. Coal imports were recorded at $56 million, while chemical wood pulp imports were limited to $50 million.

Similarly, imports of turbojets and gas turbines were $50 million. Imports of automatic data processing machines were $40 million. Imports of petroleum oil (not crude oil) reached $38 million and imports of medical equipment were $36 million. In addition, imports of nuts were recorded at $33 million.
