According to official sources, the prime minister issued a notification to establish a seven-member committee under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The committee will review the economic plan proposed by British economist Stephen Durkin.
Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb have been included in the committee.
Moreover, the minister for economic affairs, the minister for information, and the state minister for revenue and energy will also be part of the committee.
The national coordinator of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) has also been made a member of the committee.
The committee will review the draft of the economic plan and submit its report on various sectors.
British economists will also be available for their expert opinions. The committee will be able to appoint more members. The Finance Division will act as the secretariat of the committee.
