(Web Desk): A shocking incident has shaken the Islamabad Police as Superintendent of Police (SP) Industrial Area, Adeel Akbar, allegedly shot himself.

Officials said that SP Adeel Akbar took a pistol from one of his staff members and fired at himself. The incident occurred suddenly, leaving his team in disbelief. Police personnel immediately rushed him to Polyclinic Hospital for emergency treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.

According to sources, the firearm used in the incident belonged to a member of his staff. The area around Serena Hotel was quickly cordoned off as police teams collected evidence and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic event.

SP Adeel Akbar, an esteemed officer of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), had only recently joined Islamabad Police as SP Industrial Area. He was known for his professionalism, discipline, and dedication. Before his posting in the capital, he served with distinction across various regions in Balochistan, commanding multiple police units.

He held an MPhil degree in Governance and Public Policy from the National Defence University, Islamabad, and was recognized for his expertise in community policing, security management, counter-terrorism, and crisis response.

Police officials have not yet confirmed the reason behind the incident, while colleagues describe him as a dedicated and committed officer. Authorities are expected to release further details after the initial investigation.
