(Web Desk): Greece’s Digital Nomad Visa—also known as the Remote Work Visa—is offering a compelling opportunity for Pakistani professionals to live and work legally in Greece.

Pakistanis can work in Greece while staying employed or freelancing remotely for entities outside the country.

The visa was first introduced in 2021 and, as of mid-2025, continues to operate actively. Applicants are still able to apply from within Greece despite earlier considerations to limit that option.

Greece’s cost of living is up to 50% less expensive than many Western European nations. This makes the visa especially attractive. Greece’s nomad visa is a compelling long-term option as it combines vibrant coworking spaces with welcoming communities.

Eligibility

·        Applicant must be a non-EU/EEA/Swiss citizen.

·        Applicants must demonstrate remote work for employers or clients outside Greece. Local work is prohibited.

·        For single applicants, post-tax income per month must be €3,500; add 20% (€700) for a spouse and 15% per child (€525).

·        Applicants must have a signed declaration confirming no work for Greek entities, and it is important for applicants to have valid private health insurance, a clean criminal record, and proof of accommodation.

1.     Through the Greek embassy or consulate (e.g., Islamabad), complete the visa application.

2.     Include passport, photos, employment contracts, income statements, insurance, criminal record, proof of stay, and your signed declaration.

4.     Generally, within 10 business days to a month, the application is processed.
