
According to the District Police Officer (DPO) Swat, a joint operation by the Police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Tehsil Barikot, Swat, led to an exchange of fire with terrorists, resulting in the death of three most-wanted militants. The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence reports regarding the presence of armed suspects in the area. The killed terrorists have been identified as Ajmal alias Waqas, Matiullah alias Ishaq, and Rahimullah Rehmani. All three were wanted in multiple terrorism-related cases and had been on the police’s radar for a long time.

The DPO confirmed that the terrorists opened fire when security forces approached their hideout, triggering a heavy exchange. In the gun battle, all three suspects were killed on the spot. A large quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered. The police have launched a wider search operation across the district to ensure no accomplices remain at large.
A police spokesperson stated that the operation was conducted on the basis of secret intelligence, and security across the area has been tightened further to prevent any retaliation or threat. This successful action marks another step in the ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorism from the region.
