Fears of a major conflict are rising after US media claimed that Donald Trump quietly planned ground operations against Iran under the cover of negotiations.
According to the reports, the Trump administration had prepared two major ground missions targeting key strategic locations inside Iran. The first operation focused on seizing Kharg Island, a crucial oil export hub, while the second aimed at securing enriched uranium resources.
Sources suggest that the United States had already deployed around 3,500 Marines and naval personnel to the region. An additional 3,500 troops were expected to arrive in the coming weeks, significantly increasing the American military presence near Iran.
Despite these developments, officials described the plan as a limited-scale operation rather than a full invasion. However, military experts warned that US forces could face serious threats, including Iranian drones, missile attacks, ground fire, and landmines during any such mission.
Karoline Leavitt stated that the Pentagon’s role is to prepare multiple strategic options, ensuring that the president has full authority when making decisions.

Analysts believe capturing Kharg Island could deliver a severe economic blow to Iran, as the island serves as a major center for its oil exports. This could also weaken Iran’s ability to fund military operations.
At the same time, close allies of Trump reportedly warned that stepping onto Iranian soil would be a highly dangerous and complex move, potentially triggering wider regional instability.
