In Pakistan, a cup of tea might cost Rs30 or even Rs100-500 if you’re in a 5-star hotel. However, a Dubai-based café offers tea at a whopping 5,000 United Arab Emirates dirham (AED) or 378,233 Pakistani rupees.
Served in pure silver cups with 24-carat gold leaf on top, this ‘Gold Karak’ tea at the DIFC’s Emirates Financial Towers in Dubai costs AED 5000, approximately Rs378,233.
According to Khaleej Times, the cafe offers two menus. Visitors can select between inexpensive Indian street cuisine options and more upscale offerings, as per their preference.
The cafe’s owner, Sucheta Sharma, told the outlet, “We wanted to make something exceptional for people seeking indulgence, while also catering to the larger community."
Apart from this, it offers Gold Souvenir Coffee at a whopping AED 4,761, severed in silverware, which customers can even take home with them.
Other options on the luxurious menu of the café include Gold-dusted Croissants, Gold water, Gold burger and even Gold-ice cream.
