The statement was issued by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Turkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. They rejected Israel’s actions, saying these moves are attempts to change the historical and legal status of Jerusalem.
Officials expressed serious concern over the continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque for 30 days, even during the holy month of Ramadan. They warned that such steps could increase tensions and threaten peace in the region.
The ministers stressed that the entire Al-Aqsa compound is meant for Muslim worship and is managed by the Jordanian Waqf authority. They urged Israel to immediately reopen the mosque and remove restrictions in Jerusalem’s Old City.
They also demanded that worshippers be allowed to enter holy sites freely without any barriers. According to them, protecting religious rights is essential for maintaining peace and stability.
