ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted 10-day protective bail to YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, known as Nani Wala.

Earlier, the two social media influencers surrendered before the court of Justice Raja Inam Ameen Minhas in cases linked to gambling apps, cybercrime and other allegations.

The court approved the bail when both influencers appeared before the IHC shortly after returning to Pakistan from the United Kingdom.

A day earlier, the court had already given them protective bail till December 10 on a petition filed by their relatives, who feared their arrest upon landing in Islamabad.

Their lawyer told the court that Butt and Mubarak had been abroad for months and were worried they would be detained at the airport due to multiple cases registered by the FIA and other departments. He argued that the petitioners had the right to seek legal protection before any arrest.

After listening to the arguments, the IHC granted one-day bail and stopped authorities from arresting them at the airport. The court also ordered both influencers to appear the next day to ensure pending legal proceedings could continue.

Meanwhile, reports circulated that Rajab Butt was deported from the UK after his visa was cancelled. However, his lawyer Mian Ali Ashfaq clarified on X that Butt was not deported and had chosen to return to Pakistan voluntarily.

According to official records, several FIRs have been registered against both influencers under different cybercrime provisions, including promoting gambling apps, misuse of online platforms and harassment. The FIA had earlier issued several notices, but their stay abroad delayed the investigations.

In September, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency booked Butt for allegedly promoting gambling applications online. In March, he was also booked under blasphemy and cybercrime laws after launching his perfume “295”, a product that allegedly mocked Pakistan’s blasphemy law.

Last December, the Youtuber faced another case when he was arrested for keeping an unregistered lion cub and weapons at home. He later pleaded guilty to owning the wild animal, claiming it was a wedding gift.
