
In a move to celebrate this remarkable achievement, the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced a nationwide contest offering a cash prize of Rs100,000. SUPARCO invites the public to suggest a name for the lunar rover through the contest.
Titled "Name Pakistan’s Lunar Rover," the contest is open to students, space enthusiasts, and the general public across the country. Participants are encouraged to submit a creative and meaningful name for the rover, along with a brief explanation for their choice.
The winner will receive national recognition, as stated in a press release by SUPARCO.

SUPARCO’s rover, weighing around 35 kilograms, will join the Chang’E 8 mission, a key part of the International Lunar Research Station (ILRS) project. Its primary destination is the lunar south pole, an area known for its difficult terrain and rich scientific potential.
The mission aims to conduct groundbreaking research, including the study of lunar soil, surface mapping, and the development of technologies that could support sustainable human exploration of the Moon.
