LAHORE: (Web Desk) In the year 2017, Kai-Fu Lee, the Chairman of Sinovation Ventures, predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) will become more effective by combining all the technological advances of the past, warning that AI could replace 50 percent of all human jobs within 10 years.

In the year 2024, Kai-Fu Lee, who is dubbed the oracle of AI, looked back at his prediction and found it to be correct.

AI has advanced rapidly, affecting job markets significantly, especially for white-collar occupations such as office work and professional services.

This rapid development means that many tasks traditionally performed by humans are now being handled by machines.

Instead of fearing AI, people should see it as a powerful tool that can increase productivity and foster innovation, Lee emphasised. He highlighted the importance of changing our mindset.

“Instead of seeing AI as a threat, we should consider how it can complement our existing skills,” he said.

This shift is especially important for education and career planning. Lee suggests that the education system should adapt to these changes by teaching students how to work with AI.

This includes developing skills that machines cannot easily replicate, such as creativity, emotional intelligence, and complex problem-solving.

By doing so, people can better prepare for a future where AI plays an important role in many aspects of life and work.
