(Web Desk): Pakistan’s national men’s volleyball team, with a 3-1 win over the Philippines in their opening match at the group stage, started off strong at the AVC Nations Cup 2025 in Bahrain.

Pakistan dominated the first two sets — 25-18 and 25-12. The team consistently placed pressure on the Philippines, and their early momentum was based on a solid defensive form and clinical attacking.

The Philippines took the third set 25-18, taking full advantage of a bunch of unforced errors from Pakistan. However, the volleyball team didn’t let that affect them and persevered with full determination. In the last set both teams went full out but Pakistan won with unwavering force, closing the match 25-22.

Pakistan is at the top of the pool rankings; tomorrow they will go face to face with Chinese Taipei, hoping to earn some essential points in order to reach the FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League.

Alongside Pakistan, other teams competing in the AVC Nations Cup—which also qualifies for the 2026 Asian Cup—include Bahrain, Qatar, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Australia, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and New Zealand.  With the national volleyball team obtaining a stunning victory, it is displaying how it isn’t satisfied with just competing but shows it is in it to win it all.
