LAHORE: (Web Desk) Wahab Riaz, a former member of the selection committee of the national team, has announced that his tenure as a member of the selection committee has come to an end.

In a statement, Wahab Riaz said there is a lot he can say, but he does not want to be a part of the blame game. He said he has worked with sincerity and performed his duties honestly.

The former cricketer also said it was an honour for him to be a part of the selection panel. He added he is proud to make collaborative decisions on the seven-member panel, contribute to the process, and support Gary Kirsten and the coaching group.

He added everyone’s vote had equal weight in the selection committee, and they took the selection decisions as a team and shared equal responsibility for the process.

Wahab Riaz thanked all those who remembered him in their prayers. He also expressed good wishes for the success of the national team.

It is to be noted here that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) relieved Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq of their duties as members of the National Cricket Team Selection Committee the other day as part of the ‘major surgery’ after Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup.
