According to media reports, Hockey New Zealand decided to withdraw both teams due to financial issues, which were caused by a decision by High Performance Sports New Zealand, which significantly reduced the amount allocated for the Olympic Games.

On the other hand, after New Zealand s withdrawal, the FIH will now offer Pakistan to participate in the Pro League.

Speaking to media in this regard, Secretary PHF Rana Mujahid said that the FIH has not yet informed about New Zealand s decision. A huge amount of money will be required for the Pro League, for which the PHF has informed the government of Pakistan.
