(Web Desk): Former cricket star Wasim Akram has parted ways with Sialkot Stallions after an ownership dispute emerged within the franchise.

The former national team captain and swing legend separated from Pakistan Super League franchise Sialkot Stallions only a week after the franchise had announced him as its president.

Soon after the announcement, posts related to Wasim Akram were removed from the franchise’s social media accounts. This sudden move raised questions among fans about what had happened behind the scenes.

A spokesperson for Wasim Akram clarified that no written agreement had been signed with Sialkot Stallions. He said discussions had taken place, but due to an ongoing dispute between the franchise owners, Wasim Akram decided to step away.

The spokesperson added that because of the internal conflict among the owners, Wasim Akram is no longer working with the franchise.

On the other hand, Sialkot Stallions owner Muhammad Shahid claimed that Hamza Majeed was not properly dealing with all stakeholders. He said there is an ownership agreement between Alpha Group and Ozi Group regarding Sialkot Stallions. He also stated that the bank guarantee submitted to the PCB by Hamza Majeed has expired.

The situation has created uncertainty about the future direction of the franchise. Fans are now waiting to see how the ownership issue will be resolved and what impact it may have on the team’s participation in the league.

The issue looks serious inside the franchise. No written contract made separation easier. Ownership disputes can damage a team’s image. Clear decisions will be needed to restore trust.
