According to details the team management has decided to retain the same combination that defeated Oman in the opening match.
A decisive meeting between team captain Salman Ali Agha and head coach Mike Hesson concluded that the current lineup remains balanced and requires no changes. After assessing pitch conditions in Dubai, the management agreed to stick with the winning formula.
Earlier discussions had explored the possibility of resting Shaheen Shah Afridi and Abrar Ahmed. However, Salman Ali Agha expressed full faith in Afridi’s fitness and match-winning ability, ensuring his place in the squad. Similarly, while Haris Rauf was considered as a replacement for Abrar, the team chose to continue with the spinner for this clash. Sources noted that adjustments could still be made in case of late weather or pitch changes.
Head coach Mike Hesson has urged the batting unit to remain composed under pressure. He advised openers Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub to play their natural game, stressing that maintaining patience will be key in this high-stakes encounter.

Meanwhile, the match has been overshadowed by reports that senior Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials will skip the game despite India officially hosting the tournament. Indian outlet Dainik Jagran reported that while one BCCI representative may attend, top officials including Secretary Devajit Saikia, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal, Treasurer Prabhtej Bhatia, and Joint Secretary Rohan Desai are not expected in Dubai.
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi unveiled the trophy earlier this week alongside team captains, but BCCI’s absence has raised fresh controversy around India’s participation.
