LAHORE (Web Desk): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced an 18-member Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming tour of England, scheduled from July 17 to August 6.

The team will play two three-day matches and three 50-over games, with fixture dates and venues to be revealed soon.

Test middle-order batter Saud Shakeel, who has represented Pakistan in 19 Tests, will lead the squad. The team also includes three other Test-capped players: Mir Hamza (7 Tests), Musa Khan (1 Test), and Sajid Khan (12 Tests), bringing valuable experience to the red and white-ball formats.

Among the standout domestic performers, Azan Awais and Maaz Sadaqat, who topped the run charts in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2024–25 with 844 and 646 runs respectively, have earned their place in the squad.

Other notable batters include Ali Zaryab, Haider Ali, Mohammad Suleman, Omair Bin Yousuf, and Shamyl Hussain. Rohail Nazir has been named the squad’s wicketkeeper.

The pace department is led by Mushtaq Ahmed, who claimed an impressive 77 wickets in the most recent Quaid-e-Azam and President’s Trophy tournaments. He is joined by Shahid Aziz from FATA and young pacer Ubaid Shah.

The spin attack is made up of Faisal Akram (wrist spinner), Mehran Mumtaz (left-arm spinner), Mubasir Khan (off-spinning all-rounder), and seasoned off-spinner Sajid Khan—forming a versatile quartet for both formats.

The team will undergo a pre-tour training camp at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi before flying to England on July 16.
