New Zealand Women vs Pakistan Women: Pakistan’s role to decide future of NZ and India
New Zealand Women vs Pakistan Women
DUBAI: (Web Desk) Pakistan Women (PAK-W) and New Zealand Women (NZ-W) have locked horns in match 19 of the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

The Sophie Devine-led side have won the toss and elected to bat first. They are just a step away from earning their semi-final berth. However, this game is not just important for them, as the Indian team will also have a close eye on the results of this match.

Currently, they are in the third position in the tally with four points and a positive Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.282. If the side manages to win this clash with a good margin they will go through.

However, their only hope will be that Tam India concedes a defeat at the hands of the defending champions, Australia.

On the other side, Pakistan lost two of the three games, and do not have a memorable tournament so far.

But the Women in Green can play a huge role in deciding the future of New Zealand and India in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup. If Pakistan manages to win the game they might have similar points but due to their poor NRR, might not be in contention for the qualification race.

New Zealand Women s batter Georgia Plimmer featured in three games so far and has been the team s best batter. With 91 runs under her belt, Plimmer has played some counter-attacking innings at the top. In the previous game against Sri Lanka, the 20-year-old smashed a sublime fifty to take her side over the line. She will be hoping to continue her batting rhythm in the next game as well.
