(Web Desk): Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan will make his Caribbean Premier League (CPL) debut after signing with the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for the rest of the 2025 season.

Mohammad Rizwan, a batsman and wicketkeeper for Pakistan, has signed with the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots for the remainder of the 2025 season and is expected to make his Caribbean Premier League (CPL) debut.

Afghanistan s Fazalhaq Farooqi, who was called up for national duty prior to a tri-series against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, is replaced by Rizwan.

Rizwan can now play the entire CPL season because he was recently dropped off of Pakistan s squad for the Asia Cup and the UAE tri-series.

He might possibly make his debut tomorrow against the Barbados Royals, if all goes according to plan.

Rizwan is still a preferred option in franchise cricket even if he no longer plays for Pakistan in T20I matches.

He joined the Melbourne Renegades for the Big Bash League earlier this year. His transfer to the Patriots fulfills his 12-month centrally contracted Pakistani player quota for the two leagues.

His arrival comes at a crucial moment for the Patriots, who won their first game but have already lost three straights.

They are presently in fourth place in the standings and are hoping Rizwan can assist them improve.

Additionally, he will be joining Abbas Afridi and Naseem Shah, two Pakistani colleagues who are currently playing for the Patriots.

The club is looking to Rizwan to provide stability with his expertise and composed batting.

At a time when his national role is in doubt, Rizwan sees this CPL debut as an opportunity to demonstrate his value, play in the Caribbean, and reassure Pakistani selectors of his importance.

Mohammad Rizwan’s CPL move highlights the growing trend of players balancing national and league cricket. Left out of Pakistan’s T20 squad, he now has a chance to prove himself on the global stage.

His performance could boost the struggling Patriots and potentially reignite his international career.
