National cricketers attended an event organized by a private company in Karachi. Speaking on the occasion, former captain Sarfraz Ahmed said that over the past three to four years, a new team has emerged, with young players like Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, and Saeem Ayub being given opportunities. He added that a strong team has been announced.
He expressed hope that the national team will win the tri-nation series and the Asia Cup. Pakistan’s record on UAE pitches has been excellent. Fakhar Zaman is a match-winner and has been performing very well recently. Including cricket in the Olympics is a welcome move, and he hopes Pakistan will bring home a gold medal from the Olympics as well.
Former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq said on the occasion that the team is being selected on merit, and he hopes Pakistan will perform well. Young players have been given chances, and he sends best wishes to the team. The players are representing Pakistan.
He further added that Pakistan will soon have power hitters. The team is playing aggressively, which is pleasing to watch.
Former national cricketer Kamran Akmal said that the team was suitable for the tri-series, but the Asia Cup team should have been selected with more thought, keeping the match against India in mind. The recent performance of the team should have been considered.

He stated that senior players should have been included in the Asia Cup squad. The system has broken down, merit has not been followed, and mistakes have been made repeatedly for eight years. Babar and Rizwan should have been given places in the team.
He added that unfortunately, no one is focusing on cricket. For many years now, the team has been selected based on liking and disliking. The chairman is busy with his own work, and when non-cricketers come to the board, such things will continue to happen.
