DUBAI (Web Desk): Pakistani cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan appeared before the International Cricket Council after a complaint filed by the Indian cricket board.

According to sources, the issue was raised over certain gestures made by the players during the September 21 match. Match referee Richie Richardson heard the cases separately.

Farhan was questioned about his ‘gun celebration’. In his defense, he explained that it was a simple way of showing joy, something many players had done before. He even pointed out that legends like MS Dhoni and Vivian Richards had also used the same style of celebration. Farhan added that such expressions of happiness are common in Pakistan.

Haris Rauf, on the other hand, was asked about his ‘0-6 gesture’. He clarified that the gesture was nothing unusual, as players often use the number six for a six-run shot and zero for no runs. He stressed that there was nothing objectionable in it.

Haris further said that if the BCCI had objections, they should clearly explain what meaning they had taken from it. He called the complaint vague and unreasonable, asking for it to be dismissed.

Sources reveal that the BCCI did not submit any clear explanation of how the gestures were offensive. Now, the ICC inquiry committee will review the statements and available evidence before announcing its final decision.

The case has stirred curiosity among fans, as both players strongly defended their actions. Experts believe the complaint may not hold weight since no clear objection was filed by the BCCI. If the ICC dismisses the case, it could set an example of how cultural expressions in cricket should be judged fairly.
