Fakhar Zaman ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy due to injury

KARACHI: (Web Desk) Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy.

Due to a back injury sustained during the team’s opening match against New Zealand, Zaman was ruled out of the tournament.

Sources reveal that doctors have advised the left-handed batter to take complete rest. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to soon announce his replacement in the squad.

Zaman sustained the injury while fielding in the first over of the match at National Stadium Karachi. Fakhar fell fell awkwardly near the boundary rope while making an attempt to stop a boundary off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s delivery.
