(Web Desk): Peshawar Zalmi has confirmed that Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam will feature in a high-profile exhibition match aimed at raising funds for flood victims.

The emotional fixture will be played on August 30 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar, where Zalmi will take on a Legends XI.

Franchise owner Javed Afridi announced that all proceeds from the event will be dedicated to flood relief and rehabilitation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Every ticket counts. One hundred per cent of proceeds will directly support flood relief and rehabilitation across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Afridi shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Afridi called the initiative “larger than cricket itself” and urged the people of Peshawar and beyond to unite for the cause. He emphasized, “We stand with every flood-affected family of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This is our time to reunite and rebuild together.”

The exhibition match is not just a sporting event but a humanitarian effort where cricket meets compassion. Fans will get a chance to see their favorite star Babar Azam in action while also contributing to rebuilding lives shattered by the devastating floods.

This exhibition match reflects the power of sports to bring communities together in times of crisis. By involving Babar Azam, Pakistan’s cricket icon, the event ensures mass appeal and strong turnout. The symbolic location of Peshawar and the presence of a Legends XI further elevate the match into a national event with global attention.

While cricket fans will enjoy the contest on the field, the real victory will be measured off it—through the funds raised and the lives impacted. With Pakistan still struggling from the damages of floods, Zalmi’s initiative demonstrates how the sporting world can step beyond entertainment to provide hope, unity, and much-needed relief.
