Couldn’t sleep all night after losing to Afghanistan: Babar Azam

LAHORE: (Web Desk) Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam revealed that he was very sad after losing to Afghanistan in the World Cup and stayed awake all night.

The national cricket team skipper said in an interview that the reception they received in India, especially in Hyderabad, during the World Cup was surprising and memorable.

“But I was very sad to lose to Afghanistan in the World Cup, and that night I could not sleep and was awake all night,” he said.

“Hard work and dedication are the key to success,” he said and added that Mansoor Rana, Ali Zia, and Ijaz Ahmed had helped him a lot at the beginning of his career.

“Captaincy is a huge responsibility. I always take everyone in the team along,” he said and added that he always kept his batting and captaincy separate.

“Whenever I am run out, my father gets very angry at me because he does not like anyone being run out,” the Pakistan skipper said.

To a question about the upcoming World Cup, Babar Azam expressed the resolve that “God willing! We’ll win the T20 World Cup.”

When asked about his favourite team, Babar Azam replied that after Pakistan, New Zealand was his favourite team. “I really like Kane Williamson’s cover drive.”

To a question about bowlers, he said that Australian captain Pat Cummins was the most difficult bowler.

To a question about marriage, Babar Azam said that at present, he had no plan to marry. He also said that the news about seeing Sherwani in India during the World Cup was not true.
