SNGPL-WAPDA rift emerges over Ahmad Shahzad’s health issue
KARACHI: (Suno News) A rift has emerged between the SNGPL and WAPDA over an email sent by the former to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) against national cricketer Ahmad Shahzad who had represented the latter in a recent President Cup match.
According to sources, the national cricketer has reached Lahore to get treatment due to back strain he suffered during the President Cup being played in Karachi. In the email, the SNGPL complained that Ahmad Shahzad had left the match incomplete and went to Lahore without informing the management.
“Ahmed Shahzad has gone back without informing; an inquiry should be conducted against him,” it wrote in the email. The SNGPL also raised an objection on WAPDA’s strategy to add additional player in the team.
On the other side, the national cricketer stated that he was a professional cricketer, and that he was undergoing treatment after taking permission from the management. He maintained that he was on six-day leave for the purpose.
Earlier, Ahmed Shehzad had represented WAPDA against SNGPL in the President’s Trophy match at the UBL Sports Complex. However, he left the game prematurely and returned to Lahore over his health issues.
He exhibited impressive performance by scoring 77 runs in the first inning and contributing 70 runs in the second inning. However, he did not performed as fielder after his second batting stint.
