Shehbaz, Zardari discuss ways to form coalition govt in centre
LAHORE: (Suno News) People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N Central President Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting at the residence of Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Friday.
According to party sources, Shahbaz Sharif conveyed the message of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif to former president Asif Ali Zardari. On the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif invited Asif Ali Zardari to form a coalition government in centre.
Issues regarding the formation of government were discussed by the two leaders. Shehbaz Sharif conveyed the message of party leader Nawaz Sharif to Asif Ali Zardari that both the parties should work together to bring political and economic stability in the country.
It was decided during the meeting that for the formation of government, both the parties will present their opinions in the upcoming meeting. They also agreed that all matters would be finalized with mutual consultation.
The meeting continued for forty minutes at the residence of the caretaker chief minister.
The meeting was also attended by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Faryal Talpur.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif invited independent candidates to form the government in the centre.
Delivering a speech at the PML-N secretariat in Lahore’s Model Town, Nawaz said: “We respect not only the mandate of all parties but also the mandate of the independent candidates who won the elections 2024. We want them to come along with us and work together because the country cannot afford turmoil anymore.”
The PML-N leader’s offer comes amidst unofficial results showing that the party has bagged 21 out of the 30 Punjab Assembly seats in Lahore while independent candidates won eight seats.
