Seven children die of pneumonia in Punjab
LAHORE: (Suno News) Seven children died of pneumonia in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Health department sources have said that the total number of children who died of pneumonia in Lahore has reached 179.
During the last 24 hours, 230 more cases of pneumonia were reported in Punjab, and 135 new patients were reported to be under treatment in Lahore hospitals.
The total number of pneumonia cases in the provincial capital has reached 1,290, while in Punjab it has surpassed 7,963. Hundreds of children are being treated for pneumonia, chest infections, and viral infections in the hospitals of Lahore.
More than 58 children have been admitted to Children’s Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Services Hospital, General Hospital, and Ganga Ram Hospital.
Due to the unavailability of pneumonia vaccines and medicines in the general market, patients are facing severe difficulties. Medical experts say that children must complete the course of immunisation.
Prominent pediatrician Professor Haroon Hamid says that children’s rapid breathing and pits in the ribs are symptoms of pneumonia. He also said that the severity of winter in Punjab was unusually high.
