Registered Afghans not being sent back, those staying illegally can come back with valid documents: PM
Lahore: (Suno News) Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said Tuesday that the registered Afghan refugees were not being sent back to their country, adding that action was being taken only against illegal Afghan nationals and they too could come back to Pakistan with valid documents.
While talking to the media in Lahore, he said that no country in the world allowed any foreign national to stay there illegally.
About the illegal Afghan nationals, he said that they would be welcomed if they came back to Pakistan with valid visas.
He added that a citizen of any country could come to Pakistan with a visa, adding that Pakistan had not been sending back the registered Afghan refugees to their country.
He told the media that the illegal immigrants had been given time to go back. “These people should return and come back legally. We have not banned them completely,” he reiterated.
To a question, PM Kakar maintained that Pakistan would successfully conclude the upcoming review of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) scheduled next month.
He added: “We have achieved the targets, and the revenue targets have been met. We are quite comfortable that our negotiations for the second tranche will conclude very successfully.”
