Gurbaz gave good performance with England says Ramiz Raja
Lahore: (Suno News) Pakistan’s former cricketer, renowned commentator, and Vice President of Suno News, Ramiz Raja, speaking on the program “Sports On,” said that Afghanistan put up a good batting display, but the defensive champions England couldn’t hold their ground throughout the entire match.
The former PCB Chairman said that he couldn’t understand how England beat Afghanistan after scoring 425 runs, especially when the Afghan player, Gurbaz, gave a solid performance. He mentioned that Gurbaz played well against England’s bowlers, and Afghanistan has two more matches left in the group stage, where there will be more spin.
He said that this defeat was a significant setback for England, as they had already lost one match. Now, they need to present their best performance to make a comeback. Afghanistan is playing exceptionally well, and England and Australia are facing challenges in the tournament.
Afghanistan’s victory against India was a remarkable achievement, and Pakistan’s upcoming match is against Australia. Pakistan needs to perform better in this game. If Pakistan plays with fear and performs poorly, it will fall behind. Pakistan needs to score a minimum of 60 to 70 runs in the first ten overs.
Former player Aaqib Javed said that it’s unfortunate that the effort to win against India was not made. It was an opportunity for the Pakistan national cricket team to prove themselves, and Pakistan is superior in comparison to India in the field of cricket.
He also stated that the national cricket team needs a strong start. In the first one or two overs, the pressure is high on the players, and they need to show technical skills, not just hit big shots.
Shadab Khan has been influencing other teams for the past two years, and Pakistan is the number one team. Pakistan was number one even in One Day Internationals. Among our three fast bowlers, we can make anyone like Mohammad Wasim bowl for 10 overs.
The ICC Cricket World Cup witnessed a major upset as Afghanistan defeated World Champion England by 69 runs. England’s team collapsed at 215 runs while chasing the target of 285 runs set by Afghanistan. This was Afghanistan’s first victory in the World Cup.
England’s innings had a rocky start, with Jonny Bairstow scoring only 2, Joe Root scoring 11, and captain Jos Buttler making just 9 runs before getting out. Harry Brook scored 66 runs, while David Milan contributed 32 runs. Adil Rashid scored 20 runs, but his efforts were in vain. Afghan spinners put up a solid defense, taking 8 out of 10 wickets.
Mujeeb-ur-Rahman and Rashid Khan took 3 wickets each, and Mohammad Nabi claimed 2. Fast bowlers Naveen-ul-Haq and Fazal Farooqi each took one wicket.
