Punjab Chief Minister’s Visit to Government Teaching and Mayo Hospital, Assessment of Facilities

Lahore: (Suno News) Punjab Chief Minister Mohsen Nauvi visited various wards of Government Teaching Hospital Shahdra, inquired about the patients, and assessed medical facilities.

Despite the presence of stock of Ringer’s injection in the pharmacy, patients raised concerns about non-provision and ordering injections from outside.

Chief Minister Mohsen Nauvi said that there was a stock of Ringer’s injection in the pharmacy. After observing the situation, he expressed serious concern, reprimanded the senior medical officer, and ordered the immediate return of money to the patients who ordered injections from outside.

Mohsen Nauvi said that despite having stock in the pharmacy, there was no justification for ordering injections from outside. Poor patients spend money to get injections from outside, and if the hospital’s pharmacy has injections available, then what kind of management is this? If such complaints are received in the future, strict action will be taken.

Later, Chief Minister Mohsen Nauvi visited Mayo Hospital and inspected the construction work of the under-construction Emergency Block up-gradation, including the Ground, First, Second, Third, and Fourth floors. He examined the pace of construction work on each floor.

He examined the newly prepared Nursing Counter, wards, doctor rooms, and washrooms. He appreciated the Department of Building and Communication for the work of installing new ceiling fans in the wards and praised the quality of the construction work.

He directed to expedite the work of upgrading the Emergency Block and gave instructions for the permanent removal of wires on the roofs.

On this occasion, while talking, Chief Minister Mohsen Nauvi said that a state-of-the-art Emergency Block with 200 beds is being constructed.

The Secretary of Buildings and Communications briefed the Chief Minister about the construction work of the Emergency Block up-gradation. Provincial Ministers Dr. Javed Akram, Amer Mehmood, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Health Secretary, Commissioner Lahore, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
