PTI’s Wasim Qadir joins PML-N after winning NA-121 seat
LAHORE: (Suno News) Wasim Qadir, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s MNA-elect, who defeated PML-N’s Sheikh Rohail Asghar from NA-121 constituency in the elections 2024, has jumped on the PML-N bandwagon.
Waseem Qadir was the general secretary of PTI Lahore. He made the announcement in a meeting with PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz. He expressed full confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Independent candidate Wasim Qadir has won the election for National Assembly constituency NA-121 Lahore-V by securing 78,703 votes. According to the unofficial result issued by the Returning Officer/ECP, his runner-up was Sheikh Rohail Asghar of who bagged 70,597 votes.
Maryam congratulated him on joining her party and wished him well. Waseem Qadir said in his statement that he had returned to his own party and decided to support Muslim League-N to solve the problems of the nation.

According to sources, Shahbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz emerged as strong candidates for the post of chief minister of Punjab in the PML-N meeting. On proposing to nominate a candidate, the participants supported the proposal to support Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister.
The sources said that Maryam Nawaz was still a strong candidate for the chief minister’s post. If PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif did not accept the post of prime minister in the coalition government, Shahbaz Sharif would be nominated as the prime ministerial candidate, they added.
