Pneumonia claims 14 more lives in Punjab
LAHORE: (Suno News) Pneumonia has claimed the lives of 14 more children in Punjab.
979 new cases of pneumonia were reported in Punjab during the last 24 hours, health authorities have said.
197 new cases of pneumonia were reported in Lahore in one day, out of which two expired, they have added.
As many as 10,520 cases of pneumonia were reported in Punjab this year, resulting in 208 deaths.
A total of 1,570 cases of pneumonia were reported in Lahore this year, out of which 47 deaths occurred.
Children are suffering from pneumonia due to cold, health authorities have said.
Among the 14 children who died of pneumonia, two are from Lahore, three from Sheikhupura, and five from Faisalabad.
One death each has been reported from Pindi Bhattian, Gujranwala, and Mandi Bahauddin.
Six children who died were aged between three and twelve months.
The ages of the five children who died were between one year and four years.
Earlier on Tuesday, 12 children were reported to have died of pneumonia in Punjab in 24 hours.
According to the Punjab Health Department, the ages of the children who died of pneumonia were between two months and 12 years.
