PML-N ousts Mehtab Abbasi for supporting PTI
LAHORE: (Web Desk) Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) has canceled the membership of its senior leader Sardar Mehtab Abbasi for violating the party discipline and supporting a PTI candidate.
PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal issued a statement against Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and said that his membership had been canceled for violation of party discipline.
As per the statement, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi has been expelled from the party on the basis of violation of party discipline several times.
The decision perhaps came after Abbasi visited Abbottabad in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and announced to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ali Khan Jadoon from NA-17 National Assembly constituency.
Ali Khan Jadoon’s father Amanullah Jadoon was a rival of Sardar Mehtab Abbasi in the last general elections. But this time, he announced his support for Ali Jadoon while working against the party policy.
It should be noted that Sardar Mehtab himself is contesting the elections as an independent candidate from NA-16 constituency. He is former governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has also been elected member of national and provincial assembly many times.
