Pervez Khattak, sons suffer historic election defeats
PESHAWAR: (Web Desk) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTI-P) Chairman Pervez Khattak as well as his sons and a son-in-law have suffered a historic defeat in yesterday’s General Election 2024.
In PK-88, independent candidate Mian Umar bagged the seat against Khattak by getting 38,384 votes as the latter could get only 9,009 votes.
Similarly, his son-in-law Ali Khattak faced a humiliating defeat in PK-89. His sons Ismail Khattak and Ibrahim Khattak were defeated in PK-85 and PK-86, respectively.
In PP-203 Sahiwal, after the announcement of a total of 185 polling stations’ results, independent candidate Rai Murtaza Iqbal won with 62468 votes while the runner-up was Chaudhry Hanif Jat of PML-N who got 47,231 votes.
PS-77 Jamshoro, from 169 polling stations, PPP’s Syed Murad Ali Shah leads by getting 67,513 votes, followed by Grand Democratic Alliance’s (GDA) candidate Roshan Ali Barro who got 7,000 votes.
In PS-17 Qambar Shahdadkot, Nawabzada Burhan Chandeo won the seat by getting 45,540 votes. In PK-19 Bajaur, following the results of all the polling stations, independent candidate Hameedur Rehman won the seat by getting 22,912 votes while another independent candidate Khalid Khan trails by getting 13,485 votes.
In NA-35 Kohat, Abbas Afridi of PML-N won the seat with 52,680 votes followed by independent candidate Shahryar Afridi who got 23,186 votes.
In PK-49 Swabi, independent candidate Rangaiz Ahmed grabbed victory with 36,052 votes followed by Ghafoor Khan of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) with 15,380 votes.
