LAHORE: (Web Desk) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the formation of new Board of Governors (BoG). The announcement came after the nomination of Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi as its chairman.

The PCB Board of Governors is composed in accordance with Paragraph 10 of the PCB Constitution 2014. The new BoG is comprised of the following members: (1) Mustafa Ramday (PCB Patron’s Nominee); (2) Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi (PCB Patron’s Nominee); (3) Sajjad Ali Khokhar (President, Regional Cricket Association AJK); (4) Zafarullah Jadgal (President, Regional Cricket Association of Dera Murad Jamali); and (5) Tanveer Ahmed (President, Regional Cricket Association Larkana).

The BoG also includes:  (6) Tariq Sarwar (President, Regional Cricket Association Bahawalpur); (7) Representative from Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL); (8) Representative from State Bank of Pakistan (SBP); (9) Representative for Ghani Glass Limited; (10) Representative from Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV); (11) Secretary of the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, or any other person appointed by him as an ex-officio member (non-voting member).

It was also announced that Election Commissioner Shah Khawar will now oversee PCB matters, until a new Chairman is elected.

The significant development came Mohsin Naqvi was appointed  as a member of PCB Board of Governors by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

Earlier, the federal government appointed Shah Khawar as the acting PCB chief. He has already been appointed as the board’s election commissioner. The newly-appointed acting PCB chief will assume office tomorrow.

As per sources, the PCB chairman elections will be held in the first week of February.
