According to a spokesperson of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab, light rain is expected in most districts, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Talagang, Jhelum, Sargodha, and Khushab. Rain is also likely in Gujranwala, Sialkot, and Narowal, while snowfall may hit the hilly areas of Murree and Galiyat.
Director General PDMA Punjab Irfan Ali Kathia said that the rainfall will bring a noticeable decrease in temperature. He added that the expected showers could help reduce smog levels across the province.
He advised citizens to wear masks to protect themselves from smog and to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during bad weather. People were also urged to drive carefully, use fog lights during travel, and farmers were advised to plan agricultural activities according to the weather forecast.

The DG further stated that the PDMA control room is monitoring the situation round the clock. Citizens can contact PDMA’s helpline 1129 in case of any emergency.
Experts believe the predicted rainfall could offer much-needed relief from Punjab’s worsening smog. However, residents are advised to stay cautious as temperature drops and road visibility might pose travel risks. Authorities are on high alert to handle any emergencies arising from the changing weather.
