(Web Desk): Cold and dry weather will continue across most parts of Pakistan, while dense fog in Punjab and Sindh and extreme cold in northern areas may disrupt daily life.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and dry weather across most regions of Pakistan, with partly cloudy conditions expected in northern areas over the coming days.

According to the Met Office, plains of Punjab and upper Sindh are likely to experience dense fog during morning and nighttime hours, significantly reducing visibility on highways and motorways. Authorities have advised motorists to drive cautiously to avoid accidents.

Central and southern districts of Balochistan are expected to remain partly cloudy, with no significant rainfall anticipated. Weather officials confirmed that the current winter pattern will continue, particularly in higher altitudes.

Over the past 24 hours, intense cold was recorded nationwide, with northern regions facing severe winter conditions. Leh recorded the lowest temperature at minus 10°C, followed by Astore at minus 6°C, Gupis at minus 5°C, and Skardu, Hunza, and Qalat at minus 4°C. Temperatures in Kalam, Gilgit, Quetta, and Dir dropped to minus 3°C.

The PMD has urged residents, especially in northern areas, to take precautionary measures, limit unnecessary travel, and protect themselves from extreme cold as winter conditions persist.
